Pastor

The Rev. Dr. John C. Dorhauer

John was ordained in 1988. He was called to serve as our pastor in October of 2023. He previously served as the 9th elected General Minister and President of our denomination, the United Church of Christ. 

His beliefs are what he calls minimalist. By that he suggests that everything in our faith can be summed up in this: Love your neighbor as yourself. He centers his entire ministry in the call to love one another, and believes that authentic love centered in a Christ-like practice seeks justice for all. He relates to God as love and seeks to help people find their pathways to joy, to love of their whole self defined as they see most appropriate, and to fulfilling their calling to change lives and change the world and make it a happier place for all.

His loves outside of his church and faith are his family, baseball, good poetry, long bike rides, great music, and time in deep thought and contemplation. He has been married to his beloved Mimi for over 40 years, with three children, two sons/daughters in-law, and two grandchildren – all of whom he loves fiercely, adores, and of whom he is extremely proud.

Office Manager

Pam Dively

Pam manages the office operations. She produces weekly bulletins and newsletters, maintains the files on our membership base, tracks weekly offerings and makes weekly deposits to the bank, helps our treasurer and financial secretary maintain the financial records – and just about anything else we can think of. She is highly skilled and has a kind and warm welcome for all who enter our doors. 

Facilities Manager

Steve Dively

Steve is the one who shows up to keep the facility clean and running. His hard work assures all who come here that they will enter a clean, safe building. He operates with a light heart, hard work, a quick smile and laughter, and is quick with a hearty welcome to all. 

Child Care Manager

Amanda Bengford-Breneisen

For twenty years Amanda staffs our nursery. She is beloved for her care for our infants and children. She is a fixture here at the church. Amanda provides a safe and caring place where parents can be assured their child will be well-cared for.

Music Director and Accompanist

Travis Erikson

Travis is simply one of the most accomplished and talented musical directors and accompanists anywhere. He directs choirs for the high school and community, as well as for the church. He teaches music and his knowledge in the field is extraordinary. He is known and beloved for the sound he gets from our choir, and for the preludes and postludes he plays in worship that our members find utterly inspiring. He is such a rich and welcome addition to our worship life and we feel blessed to have him.
